Sustainable Management of the Bay of Bengal Large Marine Ecosystem” (BOBLME) Project officially started in April 2009. This Project is the first phase of a larger intervention that has the long-term goal of improving the lives of the coastal populations in the eight countries surrounding the Bay of Bengal – Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Thailand – through better regional management of the Bay of Bengal environment and its fisheries. This report is overview of the project, we can find a glimpse of activities in the bay of Bengal areas. As the Bay of Bengal is a large marine ecosystem and stands by seven other countries, the management of its living resources and its habitats is not only lies responsibility with Bangladesh but also an exclusive task for all the neighboring countries.This publication is the outcome of a workshop held at Chittagong, to review the environmental aspects of the Bay of Bangladesh water.
